The Crime Control & Prevention District will be funded by the reallocation of one-fourth of one cent of our current sales tax that is currently going to economic development efforts. This sales tax revenue, funded in large part by visitors who come to our city for shopping and dining, will not only fund our police department and its crime-fighting efforts, but it also will free up funds in our general review fund to be used to improve our roads, parks, and other city services.
